PRAYER FOCUS
I have posted watchmen on your walls, Jerusalem; they will never be silent day or
night. You who call on the LORD, give yourselves no rest, Isaiah 62: 6-7
Prayer is the fundamental, and yet an essential spiritual exercise for a Christian. Any Christian who would like to be victorious and effective in life and in ministry,
as well as impact his/her generation must live a life of prayers. Unfortunately, many Christians tend to become too busy to pray. While many Christians see prayer as a ritual, which is initiated by the pastor, some pastors consider prayer as the role of the intercessory or spiritual warfare department. Since in the King James translation of the Bible, prayer is mentioned 109 times and the word pray is mentioned 313 times, it shows how significant prayer is.
Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. [1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 ]
And He spoke a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray and not to faint. [ Luke 18:1]
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. [Ephesians 6:12, 2 Corinthians 10: 3-5]
First of all, then, I urge that entreaties and prayers, petitions and thanksgivings, be made on behalf of all men, 2 for kings and all who are in authority, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity.…[ 1 Timothy 2:1-3]
Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. [James 5:16]
Prayer is communication with the Divine. It can be whispered or chanted or written or expressed in the work you do. However it is expressed, it is never in vain. “Donna Wilk Cardillo”
Prayer needs time, determination, faith and hope to be effective. Prayer also needs sensitivi-ty and discernment to have breakthrough.
